Viagra for lung cancer – An effective treatment for children

Wednesday, September 1st, 2010

The Food and Drug Administration has asked Pfizer, world’s largest pharmaceutical firm, to use Viagra for treatment of lung cancer amongst children. Pfizer, the pharmaceutical giant, already has a patent to treat this condition among adults. While the final decision of the FDA is still pending, the approval will give a six month extension to the sales of Viagra without any general competition. The exclusive rights for selling this drug will terminate in 2012.

Sildenafil citrate, commercially sold as Viagra, is an oral medication used for the treatment of impotence. A leading daily has published that more than 500 children in a year face this disorder, which can be treated by use of Viagra. The flow of blood, in the body, improves with the use of Viagra and lung cancer can be effectively treated by using it.

The symptoms of lung cancer are giddiness, chest pain and exhaustion. The FDA was seeking Pfizer to use this drug for treating lung cancer since 2001, but it did not pay any heed to this idea because of very low profit margins. Currently, a medication known as Revatio is used to treat lung problems in children. The basic components of Revatio and Viagra are the same, and both of them are manufactured by Pfizer.

In spite of the information above, you should only use Viagra for the purposes written on the label. Never use it without prescription. You can buy viagra online from a certified online clinic. But you must remember to choose only those clinics that ask for a prescription or provide consultation. Read more about impotence treatments available in the market.
